Tens in Field medics, this week
See the champion ladderCompared inside your circle only. There is no worldwide table — a global ranking would quietly publish who is most active where.
This week
The week is published in advance so nobody is ambushed by Sunday. Missing a day costs you that day and nothing else.
- SundayGather, in person if you canWorship with actual people. If that is not possible where you are, join the room online.60 min
- MondayRead one chapter, slowlyWhatever your circle is working through. Slowly enough that you notice one thing you had not before.10 min
- TuesdayPray for someone by nameSomeone on this site, or in your ten. Then tell them you did — that second part is the task.5 min
- WednesdayCheck on the quietest person in your tenNot the one struggling loudly. The one who has gone quiet. A message is enough.5 min
- ThursdayAnswer a prayer requestPick one from the requests page and actually pray it, rather than reading the list and feeling something.10 min
- FridayDo one useful thing nobody will seeFor a neighbour, a colleague, or the person whose name you keep forgetting.20 min
- SaturdayPlay a round of the quizRegular game or the weekly round. Either way you will learn something you thought you knew.5 min
How the scoring works
10
to you
For finishing the day’s task. Same for everyone, whatever the task is.
10
to your ten
The same points again, to the group. Your day counts twice, which is deliberate.
+50
if all ten finish
Worth more than ten people finishing alone. That gap is what makes anyone check on the quiet one.
Why tens
Ten is small enough that an absence is obvious and large enough to survive a few people having a hard month. It is the size Jethro told Moses to use, the size of a Methodist class meeting, and the size every scouting movement independently landed on. That is not a coincidence — it is roughly the largest group in which one person can genuinely know how everyone is doing.
Scoring the group as well as the person is the mechanism. If your own points were all that mattered, you would finish and close the app. Because the ten is short of a full house, you go and ask.
There are no streaks and no penalties for missing a day. Streak mechanics work by manufacturing guilt, and the people this is built for have plenty already.
Where this fits
Daily manna is the habit. The badges and the path on Grow are what the habit adds up to over months, and the quiz bee is Saturday’s task when it comes round.
