Anyone serving is welcome, from any church or none. But every member is verified before they get in, because what people say in here is not what they can say in public.
This is a preview of the member area
Sign-in and approval are not built yet, so everything below is visible. In the real thing none of it is — not the circles, not the posts, not the names — until a member is verified.
Why it is closed
The same week, written twice. On the left is what supporters read on the public pages. On the right is what the same person wrote to their circle. Neither is dishonest — but only one of them can be published.

What supporters read
We broke ground on the school. Forty people from the village turned up with shovels.
What they wrote in here
Forty people came, and I spent the whole day worrying about the twelve who did not. Two families have stopped speaking to us since the site was agreed. I do not know yet whether that is about the land or about me. Please pray I handle the next conversation better than the last one.

What supporters read
Genesis through Deuteronomy checked. Five books down, and the team is faster than we expected.
What they wrote in here
The consultant check passed, which I am glad about. But our lead translator has been working through his father's death and I let him, because we were behind. That was my decision and I think it was the wrong one. I would like to hear from anyone who has had to slow a project down for the right reasons.

What supporters read
School placements confirmed. Sixty children have places for the coming year.
What they wrote in here
Sixty places, and I had to choose them from a hundred and forty. I have not told anyone at home what that was like. The families who were not chosen still greet me in the street, which is somehow worse than if they did not.
Circles
Small groups organised by the work rather than by geography, because the person who understands your week is usually doing your job in another country.

Member care
Most people who leave the field do not leave because the work failed. They leave exhausted, and usually later than they should have. This is the part of the platform meant to change that.
One-to-one, confidential
Usually within two weeks
Qualified counsellors, several with field experience
Six sessions, no cost to the member, arranged outside your own circle so you are not talking to someone you lead.
Debrief after a hard event
48 hours
Trained peers, plus a clinician if it is needed
For evacuations, deaths, threats, and the things that do not have a category. Within days, not months.
A mentor who has done your job
Matched within a month
Members holding the Shepherd's or Mentor's award
Matched on the work rather than on geography. Monthly, for as long as it is useful.
Getting in
1
Apply
Say who you are, what you do, and who can vouch for you — a sending organisation, a church, or two existing members.
2
We check
Quietly, and with the person who vouched for you rather than with your neighbours. Usually a week or two.
3
You are in
You choose your circles, and whether your profile is public or protected. That choice is yours, and reversible.
Verification is deliberately quiet. We confirm you with the person who vouched for you, never by asking around your community — in several of the countries members serve in, the asking is itself the danger.
